Food is meant to be pleasure, nourishment, love exchange, and fuel. It is as superficial as is deep in the sense of consuming anything. There is energy, love, and sustenance for the you in food. Food should be as healthy for you as delicious to you. The only deviation to this would be a malnourished body. It can change your palate against nourishing foods. Nutrient dense food can be overwhelming to a malnourished tongue. There is always a scaling of the nutrient density.
A good example is cacao (chocolate) bars. There are many different versions scaling from a small percentage of cacao to sugar all the way to 100% cacao. This is a great way to test your nutrient density from a palate reference point.
It can be done in various other ways as well but this is a simple one to start with. Cooking your own food is as important as the quality of the ingredients. Preparing your own food is a form of self love that is crucial to your health.
